1. Nightcrawler is about an ambitious freelance crime photojournalist, Louis Bloom who captures crashes, murders, and other mayhem. Bloom works for a news station and he perfectly portrays how extreme the protagonist would go to produce a sensational news that is profitable (an ultimate or even prime goal for every news stations). This movie is not based on a true story, however it is clear that it was inspired by many different global social media issues media faces. This film was informative, educating people how news stations cover news . How events(scenes) are carefully angled to captivate audience’s attention. Jake Gyllenhaal stars int this dramatic action/thriller film. The enigmatic protagonist goes against social and the professions’ ethical boundaries just to live up to his morals that will benefit him.
2. I think the scene that left the greatest impression on our group was the part when Louis confronted Rick who was shot by the suspect after going on a car chase to obtain footage of the incident. That sudden plot twist was a shock when watching this scene as we did not expect Louis to fool Rick (his personal assiatant) in order to get rid of him. We learned that the outside world is a "dog-eat-dog" world, especially in the media.People are merciless and will do anything to achieve their goals. We can see this trait in Louis, who is driven by greed and is willing to do anything to get what he wants, even to go as far to fabricate a story to fool the police and sacrifice Rick's life to reach his personal objectives. A leverage negotiation that resulted in sacrificing one is beyond imagination.
3. Nightcrawler is a thought provoking film that raised important questions about today’s news media. As a group we believe Nightcrawler is a rather accurate example of modern journalism or simply an exaggerated judgement of tabloid journalism.

1. We stand by Lisa Carol Fremont and Dan Gilroy’s argument. We agree with the statement that the media reports gory, bloody and grotesque photos due to audiences’ demand. News stations released our preference, we audiences love to watch and listen to violent and gory news, unfortunately hence they make their contents graphical. In terms of news worthiness, the gory and bloody scenes stimulates our emotion and captivates our attention instantly and as a result increasing the news channel’s viewership statistics.
A positive impact of such graphical coverage is that is raises awareness about today’s dangerous society. It educates as well as makes everyone a victim of paranoia. As a photojournalist, you must always regard morals and ethics with the subject. Whilst covering a scenario, they should respect the victim(s)’ privacy, dignity and emotions. Although audiences crave for raw and accurate representation of the situation, it is however impropriety to publish photos that may cause discomfort to the victim(s) or victims’ families or worse, becomes a controversial issue.
A way to eliminate this issue would be to avoid watching news contents that consists of graphical coverage. If everyone stops watching it, the viewership will gradually decrease, making news stations realise that audiences are no longer interested in graphical news and they would come up with an alternative. Media live up to our demand and expectations, they alter their delivery product according to our needs. So, change is really in our hand.

From our point of view, Lou is a highly workable lunatic! The reason being is he keeps on reiterating that he is a “quick learner”. You know what they say about the quite ones are always dangerous. He is also very ambitious in a way that he will destroy anything that crosses his path. Bloom was a misanthrope and he was deceiving. Behind his sweet attitude and articulate demeanor, he was selfish. He had little or no compassion for anyone, other’s pain and suffering are simply not his concern. We are not qualified to diagnose a mental disorder however we do believe that he is a sociopath who have had probably had a traumatic childhood that has carried on and resulted in such behavior. However his verbal skills are incompatible as it is exceptionally convincing and manipulative. Besides, this character is highly intelligent especially whilst being interrogated by the two detectives, he possess an effortless skill that allows him to escape from troubles.
Even though Lou might or might not be crazy, he is 101 percent filled by the violent imagery from our media by keeping tons of his work records that had shown on the news. He’s always five steps ahead from anyone else to create the flawless footage to the extend where he remembers to move the bodies in order to get a better view.
